DongGuk University International Hospital (Director: Lee Seok Hyun), a new-concept hospital offering both Western and Oriental medicines, is in the final stage of checkup planning to be opened on June 29.

The hospital adopted EMR (electrical medical record), PACS (picture archiving communication system) OCS (order communication system), which are the three core elements of a hospital information system (HIS). It will begin its preliminary operation starting from late May.

DongGuk University International Hospital is special in that it adopts a system enabling cooperation of Western hospitals and Oriental hospitals for the first time in Korea.

With almost completely equipped with medical staffs and employees, the hospital is offering trainings on computer systems, department works and customer services.
Director Lee Seok Hyun said that “Opening of the hospital is at hand. We will prepare ourselves for an energetic start.”

With the opening, DongGuk University International Hospital also opens a health improvement center (Director: Min Young Il) which offers both Western and Oriental diagnoses.
The center will offer medical checkup services encompassing the scientific technique of Western medicine and recuperating effect of Oriental medicine.

Director Min says that “Along with integration of Western and Oriental medicines, a systematic cooperative medical services will be offered by experts using advanced medical equipments. We will strive to improve Koreans’ health through realization of preventive medicine.”
